Essay Contest, 2020
We will be running the essay contest again in 2020. There will be one rule change for this years contest, to avoid the debacle we ran into with the 2017 winner. This years winner will need to sign a contract stating they will not sell the contest animal for at least 12 months. We will be giving away a doe/doeling of our choosing. Contest rules: contest is open to youth only, 18 years and younger. Youth must be actively involved in raising their own goat herd and showing. There will be much emphasis put on correct spelling and grammar. Pick-up and shipping of contest animal will be at the winners expense. Contest will run June 1st through June 15th, with a winner declared on Saturday June 27th. You can mail your essay entries to: Clear Creek Farm. 370 Fox Rd Coldwater, MI 49036, attn: essay contest. This years discussion questions are: 1) describe what a twist is on a goat. What body part is it?, 2) what makes the Boer goat unique, 3) describe in length what your long-term goals are. Good luck to all the 2020 contestants!
This years contest doeling is: CCF42 Gypsum, a 50% doe by BDLF Cruise Control out of a commercial doe. DOB: 2-3-20. Traditional with some diluted spots on neck. Registration pending. Picture coming soon.
